This instrument, by the master Dhapa Ganambarr, has a grand sound and very fine counterpressure. A beautiful, full sub, clear in the upper ranges, and a nice touch of midrange. This gives the instrument a kind of "edge." A bit raw. Also known within the traditional scene as the "Arnhemland growl."
It's a bit heavier than most Dhapa instruments. This allows you to project all the sounds directly through the instrument.
Naturally, the dup is easy to play and lands nicely within the drone.
The mouthpiece is a bit large, but with a piece of black beeswax (which is included), you can easily build up the pressure this instrument deserves.
