Datjirri #1 Wunuŋmurra became a legend at the beginning of this century. His instruments were of top quality. Together with his wife, Djilirrma Munuŋgurr, he came up with the idea of carving his instruments in relief.
The bands on this instrument are also engraved.
This instrument was made during his heyday.
It was acquired in 2001 by a British yiḏaki enthusiast and has remained in his private collection until now.
A super easy (almost too easy) playing yiḏaki in F# perfect.
Clear, fast, and for an instrument in this key, a nice amount of sub.
Of course, the toot is also easy to play.
The previous owner always took good care of the instrument and recently oiled it with linseed oil.
All in all: A top-class instrument by one of the most famous yiḏaki makers!
